Wood and forest festival

For 33 years now, the association of the Farm of Yesteryear has been organising a traditional Festival each year on the 1st Sunday of August, in the heart of the village of "Saint Esprit des Bois" near Plédéliac.

Visitors are plunged right into the atmosphere of a rural village on a threshing day in 1920. Because of its location close to 3 forests (La Hunaudaye, Saint Aubin, Coat jégu), the numerous crafts and professions linked to wood-working are at the heart of the traditional festival.

At the beginning of the afternoon, you will see a parade with folk dancers, as well as craftsmen (and -women) showing the life of a century ago: an old-style sawmill, carpenter, joiner, woodcarver, coalmen, sawyers, wood turner, basket makers, clog maker… At the end of the afternoon, people gather to eat pork hotpot before joining in traditional Breton dancing
