Right in the middle of Boquen Forest this Cistercian abbey is an ideal place for meditation. It all started in 1137 when some Cistercian monks from Bégard settled in Boquen. They stayed there until the revolution. At the end of the 17th century the abbey was deserted, looted and demolished. It was only in 1936 that Dom Alexis rebuilt it stone by stone. His aims were to restore the old abbey and to bring back Cistercian monastic life.

Nowadays, it is lived in by Sisters of Bethlehem who dedicate their lives solely to God in total solitude.

One can visit the church containing Dom Alexis ' grave, the mill with an exhibition retracing the life of the nuns and the ancient hall with a display of the history of the abbey.
